Time to get to work!

I'm done playing around!  Remember the post about Koli not counting calories?  Well, that's been me lately, and it doesn't work.  I can tell you from experience.

So today I logged into fitday.com, put in my current weight, my goal weight in 2 months (Sept. 8th), and started logging in everything that I ate... And it surprised me!  I would have thought that I'd be more aware of what's going in my mouth.

I thought that I was doing good, and when we got home from a lunch out and a matinee movie, I'd have a little snack to finish my great day (calorie wise).  But as I sat down and logged in every single thing that I ate, I soon realized that there wasn't room for anymore, except a few (8) fresh strawberries (45 calories = great calorie value).

I ended with 2089 calories, which is "maintaining" and not losing.  It felt like I was losing, and still does.  I have to admit I'm wanting to snack right now (10:35 pm).  If I am good (no snacking), maybe the scale will show it tomorrow!

For  breakfast I had a Special K protein meal bar, and a Yoplait light yogurt, followed by a mid-morning snack of a slice of Havarti cheese with sliced turkey breast and midget dill pickles.  Our lunch/dinner was at Azteca mexican restaurant, where I shared Pollo Mazatlan with Jenny (my daughter).  It came with a green salad with ranch dressing, and is made of grilled chicken breast with vegetables, over spanish rice and jack cheese.  My downfall was having some (probably 15) tortilla chips before the meal came, and some of the coconut shrimp appetizer (deep-fried = not good).

In the movie I had a couple cups of popcorn, and about 10 Reeses pieces.  A couple days ago a day out like this could have easily given me many more calories.  This was a good warm-up day.

By the way, the movie that we saw, "Despicable Me," was awesome.  It was brilliantly written; having a great story line, great humor, touching scenes, and a great ending.  I really enjoyed it.

I am pumped to continue eating right, and working out regularly.  Last week I was at the gym twice and hiked over half way up a small mountain (Mt. Peak).  In the gym I did 1.5 miles on the elliptical machine and 20 minutes on a stationary bike.

This coming week is going to be GREAT!
