I came across this poster image and felt I had to share it here. This “Thick Girls image” is what we all need to keep in mind during our struggling times. As we go through day after day of dieting in an effort to find our perfect body we often forget to love ourselves.
This picture should be a reminder of the typical woman. It inspires me in several ways, the one way that it really gives me inspiration is that these women shine with confidence. I believe its more confidence than actual body that brings out seductiveness.
With that thought in mind, it only seems natural that we should all take a moment and realize how beautiful we are. We should all look in the mirror with new eyes. We should make a conscious effort to see ourselves for the first time.
Instead of seeing our curves with judgment we should see our curves with proudness. We don’t have to be skin and bones, in fact most of the men I know claim to not like skin and bones. So then why do we judge ourselves so harshly? It’s often said that the media creates our sometimes ridiculous body image problems. This could very well be the case, however even if this is the case we should take active steps to love our body.
As this year ends, keep this picture in mind and don’t make another New Year’s resolution to lose weight. This year, make a New Year’s resolution to love yourself. Write down a plan of attack against negative thoughts and implement positive thoughts each day. This year, become active and change your thought patterns, in fact I’m willing to bet that once the mind has changed the body will naturally follow.
