I hope everyone enjoyed thanksgiving and ate within reason. I know holiday meals can be difficult and trying when attempting to make healthy food choices. Especially if you have relatives like mine who insist on pushing food towards you.

My extremely skinny, eat anything sister-n-law is my frustration every holiday. She is constantly trying to get everyone to have 2nds and 3rds. Of course she also thinks that we should each try a piece of each desert. I still after all these years haven’t decided if she finds it humorous or if she’s just clueless in that area, either way it’s definitely frustrating to say the least.
I have always thought that each family has a member just like my never gain a pound sister-n-law. Such as an over friendly Aunt or a jolly old Uncle with a never ending need to offer food to everyone. Or possibly just a sweet Grandmother who always thinks that everyone is starving no matter what. There may even be that over excited cousin that absolutely must share the experience of every sweet indulgence that they come across.
I’m certain that any of these types of family members, even my sister-n-law has deep down good intentions. Somewhere inside of them, they believe that they are helping everyone to enjoy their holiday meals. In that light, it can actually be considered kind and sweet. They don’t actually realize that the rest of us need to stay on guard or suffer a week of guilt along with an extra three or even four hours in the gym. For that reason alone, we all graciously smile each year.
