The Body for life diet is really more than a diet. It’s a 12 week diet and exercise program that if followed will teach you valuable lifestyle habits that you can use to stop the diet rollercoaster once in for all. This is the one diet that is also a challenge with various prizes for winning participants.
Before Body for Life became a challenge, it was a simple eating program that combined fitness into it. It was developed by Bill Phillips who wanted to give people the tools to change their lives. If there is any diet that mimics my daily diet then the Body for Life diet is it.
This diet removes processed food, in fact it’s recommended that you only shop on the outer edges of the grocery store. Your actual diet will consist of lean proteins, healthy carbohydrates, fibrous grains and healthy dairy products. This diet also teaches people the importance of small meals, 5 or 6 meals spread throughout the day.
The fact that this is a diet program makes it mandatory that exercise is incorporated into it. It’s suggested that exercise is conducted 3 times a week and they offer exercise schedules for free, I know their exercise schedule is in the challenge packet although I believe you can also find it on their website.
The website available again for free has valuable information. They have sample shopping list and menus. There are community forums for support and they also have a huge user created recipe index. If you’re interested in the challenge, you can pick up an entry packet and look over bios from past winners.
